Can                                    I

touch                                 your

hair?                                  Place

my                                    hand

on                                     your

shoulder?                            Feel

the                                    warmth

of                                     your

body?                                Your

presence                                my

anchor,                               keeping

me                                      steady.

But                               in the

darkness                    of the night

when                           I close my eyes

and                          feel you near

I                             know

you                            are

not                          here.

Those Who Burn by Theo Scoblic (Chapter 1 Excerpt)

“In life, may I be his disciple. In death, may I honor him. In between, may I enact his will. Hail Rakneth,” I prayed, as I circled the burning fire before me. I clutched my sacrifices in my hand, pr
